Methodology
How a pathway becomes a usable map
We begin with the responsible official bodies, preserve jurisdictional decisions, and show what is unknown instead of smoothing it into a false promise.
1. Define the exact corridor and scope
A pathway record names a profession, origin, destination, and jurisdiction scope. National steps are not silently treated as state, provincial, or territory rules. When a local regulator makes the decision, the pathway marks that decision point.
2. Use the responsible primary source
Licensing and immigration requirements are supported by the official regulator, examination body, credential body, or government authority that owns the rule. Secondary sources may provide clearly labelled context, but they do not establish a requirement.
3. Break claims into reviewable units
Each step keeps its purpose, audience, actions, jurisdiction, sources, and last-verified date together. Numeric claims need a matching cited fact. Fees retain currency and effective date; durations retain their range and basis.
4. Preserve uncertainty
- Variable or unpublished amounts are not replaced with zero.
- Different currencies are not converted or combined silently.
- Parallel steps are not automatically added into a false total.
- Unsupported corridors receive a research-incomplete state.
- Personal circumstances are referred back to the official decision-maker.
5. Apply staged review checks
| State | What it means | Publication status |
|---|---|---|
| Draft | Research or evidence is incomplete. | Blocked |
| Source reviewed | Official citations, scope, and dates passed the evidence checks. | Not yet eligible |
| Expert reviewed | A genuine named reviewer has assessed the relevant content. | Requires final editorial approval |
| Publishable | Source, expert, and editorial review are complete. | Eligible for publication |
